![]() Once you begin using the Z9, you’ll be surprised with how easy it is to shoot a lot of photos. One of the easiest ways to find out the Nikon shutter count is to use the online CameraShutterCount service, which is available completely for free. Does the grip have a lot wear, is the camera scratched and scuffed? By comparison I have a Z7 and Z7ii which I've had each for over a year longer and combined they have less actuations, maybe half, and they were my primary cameras. Since the Z9 doesn’t have the mechanical shutter to worry about, I’d try to judge the condition by looking at the camera physically. The mechanical shutter count is 8624 and the total shutter count if 14343, the difference being the number of times the electronic shutter was used for focus stacking, etc. I know some people who use cameras mostly for video and rarely photos so that camera would still have seen a lot of usage but very low shutter count. I have a Z9 I got at the end of January and it has over 40,000 actuations on it and I’d consider myself a fairly conservative shooter with it because I don’t want to have thousands of photos to go through every shoot. The high frame rate of the Z9 makes it easy to take a lot of photos and there were quite a few people holding down the shutter button to test memory card limits. Good point but never the less, I enquired about one that turns out to have taken 160,000 shots and was 7 months old. Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for Nikon D600 Digital Camera 24.3 MP 14. Would you include frames of video? Would you include pre capture frames that weren’t recorded to card? Would you include every frame run through the viewfinder? I received a used one today that was described as having 2000 actuations but I can't find any software to verify this. Canon’s EOS R is also rated for 200 000 actuations, although the lower-priced EOS RP is rated for up to 100,000 cycles, according to available data. ![]() I appreciate the Z9 is electronic shutter only, but is there any software available to show the actuations which may give an indication of how much real world use the camera has had. Nikon claims a shutter life expectancy of 200 000 actuations for its Z6 and Z7 mirrorless cameras. ![]()
